Couche-Tard has officially inaugurated its first branded EV chargers in Canada at its Ange-Gardien, Quebec, site. The news comes after the company announced it will deploy nearly 200 chargers in the next few years to enhance the customer experience in its North American network.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who worked on this project, from operations, e-mobility, global fuel and other global teams who made this possible. We are very proud of this first charging site with our branded EV Couche-Tard chargers and this marks another important step in our journey with EVs in Quebec and Canada,” said Pierre Peters, VP of Operations for Eastern Canada at Couche-Tard.

The opening was celebrated with an official company event in which several of the teams that took part in the development of the chargers attended. Personnel from the Eastern Canada business unit, e-mobility, global fuel and stores teams gathered for the ribbon cutting ceremony at the site. The brand also launched the service completely free for a limited time as an introductory offer for the customers.

“It’s a first, but it’s also a continuation of what we are doing globally as a company which is to deliver products and services for people on the go, and as our customers change, we change with them. We have a long history of doing that and evolving our offer to what the customer needs. It’s been a great journey with our partners to make this possible, so we are very happy to have this finally in operation,” added Snorre Skeie, Director of e-Mobility of Couche-Tard North America.
