ChargePoint, Optimus to add 200+ fast charging ports in eastern U.S.
Expanded partnership targets high-demand locations across the Southeast to support growing EV charging needs.
ChargePoint and Optimus Energy Solutions have expanded their partnership to deploy more than 200 new public electric vehicle (EV) charging ports across the southeastern United States, strengthening fast-charging access in one of the country’s growing EV markets.
Under the agreement, ChargePoint will serve as the exclusive provider of charging hardware, software and related services, while Optimus will own and operate the charging sites. The new installations will primarily focus on high-demand areas, including quick-service restaurant locations and retail centers where charging usage is typically higher due to convenient amenities and traffic volumes.
The companies said the expansion is aimed at addressing charging infrastructure gaps and supporting continued EV adoption across the eastern U.S. The network buildout combines ChargePoint’s charging platform with Optimus’ experience managing charging operations and site deployments.
“Expanding access to reliable EV charging infrastructure is critical to accelerating the transition to e-mobility,” said Rick Wilmer, CEO at ChargePoint. He added that the collaboration is helping deliver “a more seamless charging experience for drivers across the eastern U.S.”
Ben Pauluhn, president of Optimus Energy Solutions, said the partnership has played a key role in the company’s growth in the charging sector. “Leveraging ChargePoint’s technology and support allows us to meet the increasing demand for fast, reliable charging solutions,” he said.
The additional charging ports are expected to expand charging availability in key markets throughout the Southeast, where demand for convenient public charging continues to increase.
