ChargeZone to build over 1,000 highway EV stations in India
Network to span major intercity corridors as high‑speed charging demand accelerates.
ChargeZone plans to install more than 1,000 charging stations along key national highways throughout India by 2027, expanding fast‑charging capacity as electric vehicle (EV) adoption grows across the country.
The project will operate under a dealer‑owned, company‑operated model, allowing private investors and landowners to fund sites while the company manages day‑to‑day operations. According to The India Times, planned station capacities will range from 500 kW to 1.5 MW, supporting both passenger EVs and commercial fleets.
The upcoming network will cover major corridors including Delhi–Mumbai, Bengaluru–Hyderabad, Mumbai–Hyderabad, Delhi–Chandigarh, and Bengaluru–Chennai, among others. These routes are critical for long‑distance travel and freight transport where charging availability remains limited.
To facilitate investment, the company has partnered with the State Bank of India, enabling financing options for individuals and businesses aiming to set up charging sites.
The expansion aligns with India’s broader push to strengthen e-mobility infrastructure, especially along highways and logistics routes where demand for high‑speed charging is expected to grow rapidly as electrification accelerates.
