Circle K opens first dedicated EV charging hubs in Dublin
The openings form part of Circle K’s €15 million investment in EV infrastructure.
Forecourt retailer Circle K has opened its first dedicated electric vehicle (EV) hubs in Dublin, marking a significant step in the company’s push toward supporting Ireland’s transition to cleaner transport.
The new sites, located in Clonshaugh and City Avenue, feature super-fast chargers capable of delivering up to 400kW, among the fastest available in the country. The Clonshaugh hub includes five chargers and ten bays, while City Avenue offers four chargers and eight bays, reports Checkout.ie.
The openings form part of Circle K’s €15 million investment in EV infrastructure, which now spans 41 locations and 134 charging points across Ireland.
Ciara Foxton, Managing Director of Circle K Ireland, said the company aims to make charging “fast, reliable, convenient and safe,” adding that substantial investment over recent years reflects its commitment to easing the shift to electric mobility.
Minister for Transport and Climate, Energy and the Environment Darragh O’Brien welcomed the development, describing reliable charging as vital to encouraging wider EV adoption. “Achieving our climate action targets will only be possible if drivers know they can charge conveniently and confidently,” he said.
The launch aligns with Ireland’s broader national EV charging strategy, which seeks to build public confidence and accessibility as EV ownership rises.
