Circle K to bring EV charging to more than 350 US sites

IONNA will assume operation of Circle K's existing U.S. charging portfolio.

EV charging network IONNA has announced a strategic partnership with convenience and mobility retailer Circle K to deploy high-power charging at more than 350 locations across the United States, operating under the Rechargeries @ Circle K brand.

IONNA, founded by BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis and Toyota, will assume operation of Circle K's existing U.S. charging portfolio and rapidly convert and upgrade approximately 85 sites. The company will also accelerate new deployments at high-traffic Circle K locations currently without charging infrastructure.

"Circle K's scale, customer focus, and quality of location make them an ideal partner as we rapidly expand high-power charging where drivers already want to stop," said Aaron Wolff, COO of IONNA.

The first Rechargeries @ Circle K sites are expected to open by the end of 2026, with additional scale planned for 2027. Chargers will deliver speeds of up to 400 kW with both NACS and CCS connectivity, combining IONNA's charging technology with Circle K's food, beverage and convenience retail offer across its more than 7,300 U.S. stores.

"Partnering with IONNA enables us to scale high-power charging quickly at locations drivers already trust," said Håkon Stiksrud, VP of Global eMobility at Circle K.

The partnership advances IONNA's goal of building 30,000 high-power charging bays by 2030.
