Co-op extends partnership with Deliveroo to reach 1,400 stores in the UK
Both firms have agreed to continue working together for three more years and add 110 additional locations from the retailer to expand their reach.
Co-op and Deliveroo have announced an extension of three years for their partnership and the addition of new stores to expand their reach. In total, the service will be available from up to 1,400 of the convenience store operator’s locations by the end of the year.
Both companies partnered up for the first time in 2017 and the retailer has become one of the platform’s largest grocery partners in the United Kingdom. That is why it has confirmed the availability of 110 additional stores via the app this year.
“We are delighted to be able to expand our partnership with Deliveroo – as a convenience retailer, the ability to come into stores will always be important to customers, but we also know that shoppers want flexible and convenient options online, and so we are focused on providing what our customers want and need, however and wherever they choose to shop with us,” said Chris Conway, ecommerce Director at Co-op, in a press release published by the local news site edelivery.net.
The rollout of the Deliveroo Signature service is also planned to be integrated into its partner’s stores. This makes the app’s UK-wide network of riders also available to deliver orders placed directly with Co-op through its own online shop and giving the chain’s customers greater choice and availability of delivery slots.
“Co-op is one of Deliveroo’s largest on-demand grocery partnerships and it continues to be a huge success. Deliveroo’s riders have brought countless pints of milk, bananas and meal-time staples to households throughout the UK, helping to rescue tea time, picnic plans and more. We’re delighted to be extending our partnership and bringing more choice into people’s lives and easier ways to shop,” added Carlo Mocci, Chief Business Officer UK&I at Deliveroo.
