Co-op Media Network installs 1,000th digital screen
The milestone strengthens Co-op’s aim to become a leading retail media network in the UK.
Co-op Media Network (CMN) has announced the completion of its 1,000th front-of-store digital screen, marking a major milestone in the expansion of its in-store advertising network.
The rollout brings the total number of digital advertising screens across Co-op’s 2,300 stores to 15,871, making it one of the most extensive retail media footprints in the UK grocery sector. The latest installation was completed in Newton Stewart, Scotland, as part of a large-scale rollout that has grown by more than 230% since Co-op first announced plans to add 300 front-of-store screens in October 2024.
These high-visibility screens, together with digital displays at self-service kiosks and manned tills, enable brands to connect with shoppers directly at the point of purchase.
“We have a store located in every postal code area, and with 70 percent of the UK population within a two-mile radius of a Co-op, we’re well-positioned to deliver significant reach,” said Kenyatte Nelson, Chief Membership & Customer Officer at Co-op. “The roll out of 1,000 digital screens over the past 12 months has been strategically developed to leverage Co-op’s extensive presence as a media owner and we have further ambitious expansion plans for our screen network in 2026.”
The project was delivered in collaboration with Commercial IT Services and Grassfish, extending the retailer’s digital media presence across a diverse range of store formats. Co-op’s digital screen network also extends beyond its physical stores to UK music festivals, hospitals, service stations, and train stations.
