Retailer Costco is now accepting Apple Pay across its 750 stores in the U.S., giving Apple’s payments platform a major boost in presence.

"We've added additional mobile payment options to make your next visit more convenient," said Costco said in a statement to Business Insider.

A recent analyst report suggested that Apple Pay now has more than 250 million users worldwide, led by international adoption.

With this move, Costco joins competitors such as Walmart-owned Sam's Club and BJ's Wholesale Club in offering mobile payments at the counter.
