Czech Republic: Benzina continues to expand its drive-up ATM services
Following the success of the first two, the Czech fuel retailer has opened its third drive-up ATM.
The third drive up ATM in the Czech Republic was installed at the filling station Benzina in Horní Street, Ostrava. A driver make cash withdrawals or deposits from the window of his car and perform other banking operations.
"We are the largest chain of filling stations, and also the largest café chain in Czech Republic. We are constantly attempting to offer customers new products and services, and for this reason we offer drivers so-called drive up ATMs in cooperation with Komerční banka. The current ATMs at our station in Prague and Hradec Králové are used extensively by drivers," said Marek Zouvala, director of branch of Benzina group Unipetrol.
There are approximately 68,800 DRIVE-UP ATMs installed around the world, representing roughly 2% of the total number of ATMs installed worldwide. They’re mostly located in the U.S. (40% of all ATMs) and Saudi Arabia (13%). Other countries with drive-ups representing more than 1% of all ATMs include Pakistan, Canada, Iran, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
