Dash Energies enters Cameroon fuel retail market with 100-station ambition
The company has launched its first service station in Douala and plans to expand to 100 locations by 2028, aiming to build a significant presence in the country's regulated fuel retail sector.
Dash Energies has entered Cameroon’s fuel retail market with the opening of its first service station in Douala, marking the beginning of an expansion plan that targets 100 locations by September 2028.
The inaugural station occupies a refurbished former MRS service station, representing the first step in an ambitious growth strategy. Dash Energies plans to add four more stations before the end of 2026, including locations in Limbé, two sites in Kumba and another in Muyuka, bringing its network to five stations, as reported by Business Cameroon.
Dash Energies enters a competitive market that includes established operators such as TotalEnergies, Tradex, Neptune Oil, MRS Cameroon and Ola Energy. Unlike many fuel markets, however, pump prices in Cameroon are regulated by the government, limiting opportunities to compete directly on fuel prices.
The fuel retail venture represents a diversification move for Dashaco Holdings Africa, the parent company of Dash Energies. Founded by entrepreneur Bony Dashaco, the group has built businesses across media, communications, microfinance, real estate, hospitality and security services.
While the company has outlined an aggressive growth roadmap, further details regarding the remaining 95 planned stations, development timelines and funding arrangements have yet to be announced.
