DEWA, ENOC partner to expand Dubai’s EV fast-charging network
New agreement aims to strengthen green mobility infrastructure and support UAE sustainability goals.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a new agreement with ENOC Group to expand the electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network across service stations in Dubai.
The partnership, announced during the 27th edition of WETEX 2025, is part of Dubai’s broader strategy to meet rising EV demand and accelerate its transition toward sustainable mobility. Senior leaders from both organizations attended the signing ceremony, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The partnership was signed by Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, and Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail, in the presence of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Hussain Sultan Lootah, Acting Group CEO of ENOC.
Al Tayer emphasized that the collaboration reflects Dubai’s commitment to building a comprehensive EV ecosystem: “In collaboration with our partners from the government and private sectors, we are enhancing Dubai’s green mobility journey by building and developing an integrated infrastructure for charging electric vehicles. This contributes to reducing carbon emissions and achieving the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy.”
Hussain Sultan Lootah highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership in advancing Dubai’s sustainability ambitions: “Our partnership with DEWA marks a strategic milestone in our commitment to advancing the UAE’s green agenda and positioning Dubai as a global hub for sustainability and innovation.”
Through the EV Green Charger initiative, DEWA already operates more than 1,500 charging points across Dubai, in collaboration with public and private partners. The new agreement with ENOC will expand this network further, supporting the emirate’s goal of becoming a global benchmark for sustainable mobility.
