Eco-friendly carwash goes greener with solar power

Car wash and detail chain iShine Express is harnessing the power of solar energy by commissioning two 14.88 kW solar installations from Circular Energy.

The solar installations will help iShine reduce power costs and advance its sustainability goals, reported the Circular Energy release.

It will help the company save 20% of electricity costs, equivalent to more than $3,600 dollars each year.

It is also expected to deliver approximately $100,000 dollars of energy savings during the 25-year system lifetime and solar panel warranty period, the release further said.

The project will provide approximately 38,038 kWh of solar power each year, equivalent to offsetting more than 26 metric tons of CO2.

This is another environmentally sustainable solution for the eco-friendly company, which has already been using biodegradable car shampoos and mini water treatment plants on-site to reclaim most of the water used during the washing process.

“We’ve always been interested in further greening our operations by powering our facilities with solar. Circular Energy presented us with a scenario that made solid business sense, including a number of financing options tailored to our specific needs,” said Jaron Stone, Owner and Head of Operations for iShine Express.
