Effort underway in Mauritius to foster “responsible” use of LPG and other fuels
Vivo Energy Mauritius, which markets with exclusive rights Shell fuels and lubricants, has started an education campaign to create more awareness about LPG dangers in urban, underprivileged dwellings.
The project is actually an extension of efforts started in 2011 and which have gone through different stages. The efforts are basically oriented at getting low income residences to verify and change if needed their equipment to guarantee safety. It also checks on all LPG supply connections.
“Statistics show that when gas is poorly utilized it can cause accidents with serious consequences,” Vivo said in a statement.
Vivo operates not just in Mauritius but n nearly all African countries with a network of about 1,500 fuel stations.
