ENOC launches green diesel in UAE
Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has launched ‘Biodiesel 5’, a diesel that can reduce carbon footprint and greenhouse emissions, reports Emirates News Agency.
Biodiesel 5 is a clean fuel produced from renewable resources such as vegetable oil, waste cooking oil, animal oil and fats.
Tested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), companies use this new fuel product for trucks and heavy construction equipment without the need to upgrade engines and storage facilities.
It has been launched in line with the UAE Energy Plan 2050, which taps a mix of renewable, nuclear, and clean energy sources to meet economic needs and achieve environmental objectives.
“As a National Oil Company, NOC, and in line with the UAE’s Energy Plan 2050, it is our responsibility to support, advance and positively impact the communities we operate in,” said Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC.
