FamilyMart Co and UNY Group consider merger in Japan, Reuters says
FamilyMart Co Ltd and UNY Group Holdings Co Ltd have considered a merger that would create Japan's second-biggest convenience store chain after Seven-Eleven Japan, Reuters news agency said in a report from March 6.
FamilyMart and UNY, owners of Japan’s third and fourth biggest convenience store retailers respectively, would have a combined revenue of $23 billion, the news agency added saying both FamilyMart and UNY confirmed the discussions though said that “nothing had been decided”.
