Forty fast charging points at Repsol sites completed
CIRVE Project links Portugal, Spain and France, making crossing the Iberian Peninsula by electric car a real possibility.
The CIRVE Project has completed the deployment of a network of 40 fast charging points for electric vehicles connecting the Iberian Peninsula with the rest of the European Union, announced the partners responsible for its implementation.
CIRVE's electric vehicle chargers are available at Repsol fuel stations. These charging points operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, according to IBIL, an initiative of EVE and REPSOL that has led the development of CIRVE in Spain.
"CIRVE is a project that marks a before and after because it has managed to link Portugal, Spain and France, making crossing the Iberian Peninsula by electric car a real possibility today," says IBIL in a press release.
The CIRVE project began at the end of 2015 and has had a budget of 3.5 million euros to deploy a network of 40 fast charging points for electric vehicles connecting the Iberian Peninsula with the rest of the countries of the European Union until December 2021, a date that had to be postponed due to the pandemic.
Co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), it is part of the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T), a planned set of priority transport networks designed to facilitate the communication of people and goods throughout the European Union.
