France eyes 1,000 hydrogen stations by 2028
France aims to increase the number of hydrogen stations from the current 20 to 1,000 by 2028.
This is part of the €100m ($116.8m) ambitious plan presented by French Ecological and Inclusive Transition Minister Nicolas Hulot “to make (the country) a world leader in this technology,” reports gasworld.
In addition, the Hydrogen Deployment Plan for Energy Transition aims to put 5,000 hydrogen vehicles on the road by 2023, compared to a little over 250 currently.
To further reduce carbon emissions, it has also set a goal of 10% ‘green’ hydrogen, which is that produced from renewable sources, by 2023, as 95% of hydrogen currently consumed in France comes from fossil fuels.
