France sees rising fuel consumption in December: UFIP
For December 2014 the French consumption of fuels rose to 4.47 million cubic meters, 7.2% higher from December of the previous year, the Union Francaise des Industries Petrolieres said in a report issued in January.
“This evolution results from the increase by 6.6% of deliveries of super fuels without lead and from the increase by 7.4% of the gazole (diesel) deliveries,” the report said.
During December, diesel accounted for 81.7% of all the fuel consumed in French roads, the report added.
Total annual consumption of gasoline and diesel during all of 2014 was 50.1 million cubic meters or 0.3% more than a year earlier, the report said.
“The year 2014 which knew a spectacular price decline in the second half is currently, however, characterized by a great stability in the consumption of road fuels,” Francis Duseux, president of the UFIP (Union Francaise des Industries Petrolieres) was quoted as saying in the statement.
