Galp names Filipe Silva as new CEO
The current CFO of the company will succeed Andy Brown after being chosen by the Board of Directors from the 1st of January until the next general meeting of shareholders.
Galp has announced the appointment of Filipe Silva, current member of the Board of Directors and CFO of the company, as new CEO. After being elected by the Board, he will succeed Andy Brown in the position to serve from January 1 of 2023 until the next general shareholders meeting.
In addition, the firm's main shareholder, Amorim Energia B.V., informed the company of its intention to include Silva on the list to be presented to the next shareholders meeting for the election of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2026 period. The intention is to propose that he continues heading Galp's executive committee.
"Filipe is a manager with great experience in the company and in the energy markets, I am sure that this succession is the one that best positions Galp in following its path of growth and transformation, in accordance with the defined strategic guidelines. My best wishes to Filipe in his new role," said Paula Amorim, President of Galp.
Between January 1, 2023 and the date of the next general shareholders meeting, and until the composition of the executive team for the next term is defined, Filipe is expected to accumulate the functions of CEO and CFO.
