GasBuddy offer new forms of promotion for fuel retailers

GasBuddy has developed a new system to help retailers send customized ads, promos and discounts to consumers via the Gasbuddy app.

The new Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons will be free of charge for the GasBuddy members – around 150,000 gas stations, reported RFID Journal.

The beacons will allow brands and gas stations to push promotional content to consumers through the app, which has proven to be hugely popular with its 52 million downloads in the United States and Canada.

According to the fuel price company, around 1,100 beacons have been delivered since last summer and they hope to reach 5,000 by the end of the year.
