Gazprom filling station network expands in Russia
Gazprom Neft reached 1,365 outlets across 45 of Russia’s regions by adding 44 new sites in 2020, and envisages adding over 70 new locations in 2021.
Gazprom Neft, the third largest oil company in Russia in terms of refining and fourth one in oil production, commissioned 44 new outlets in its homeland in 2020, reaching a total of 1,365 outlets in the country, and expanding its filling station network’s geographical coverage to 45 of Russia’s regions, according to a company press release.
For 2021, Gazprom Neft’s strategy for developing its retail business in Russia includes adding more than 70 new sites. In its expansion strategy, the company is planning to open locations in the Rostov Oblast, a new region for the company.
Gazprom will place particular emphasis on developing roadside infrastructure along Russia’s most important motorways — the M-7 ‘Volga’ and M-11 ‘Neva’ routes, according to Head of the Gazprom Neft filling station network for Russia, Oleg Kuzmenkov.
New digital, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly technologies were used in building new and modernising existing filling stations in 2020, with the first ever solar-powered Gazprom Neft station opening in the Yaroslavl Oblast, says the release. Self-service tills have been installed in test mode at a number of stations in Moscow and St Petersburg, allowing customers to pay for café and other non-fuel goods independently.
New locations in 2020 opened in Moscow, Voronezh, Irkutsk, Kaluga, Kostroma, Leningrad, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Samara, Sverdlovsk, Smolensk, Tomsk and Tyumen Oblasts, as well as in the Altaisky Krai, Krasnodarsky Krai and Krasnoyarsky Krai, and the Adygea, Altai and Mordovia Republics.
