Gazprom Neft acquires bitumen logistics terminal in Salsk

Gazpromneft Bitumen Materials has acquired TA Bitumen LLC, a logistics terminal in the Russian town of Salsk as part of the company’s plans to put up a logistics system that will ensure bitumen supply throughout Russia’s southern regions.

The acquired facility will allow Gazprom Neft expand its bitumen product distribution in the company’s target region of Southern Federal District as well as meet the region’s demand for Gazprom Neft’s high-technology bitumen and bitumen derivatives for road construction.

The terminal’s infrastructure includes storage facilities capable of holding up to 30,000 tons of manufactured goods at any one time and 300-ton-per-day capacity polymer-bitumen binder production unit, according to the company.

It is also fully automated, fully compliant with international industrial and environmental safety standards, and allows the transhipment of up to 140,000 tons of bitumen binders every year.

“Gazprom Neft is developing its bitumens business in an integrated and comprehensive manner, offering a full range of integrated services including multimodal logistics, optimum packaging solutions, scientific and technical support in using bitumen materials, and IT services,” said Anatoly Cherner, Deputy CEO for Logistics, Processing and Sales, Gazprom Neft.
