G&V Energy Group, Rolande unveil fourth LNG station in Belgium
Located in Waregem, the new site has joined the network built by both companies to build a comprehensive network of the fuel in the country.
G&V Energy Group and Rolande have established their fourth liquefied natural gas (LNG) station in Belgium. The recently inaugurated site will join the current operating ones located in Antwerp, Habay and Meer as part of the partners’ ambition to create a comprehensive LNG network in the country.
“We believe in ‘greening’ transport. That is essential for a better world. LNG is a step in that, but we want to move on to Bio-LNG as soon as possible. That will mean a saving for heavy road transport of up to almost 100% in CO2 emissions compared to traditional diesel,” said Jolon van der Schuit, CEO of Rolande.
The new station is a public 24/7 self-service facility with two LNG pumps. Its location, the city of Waregem, has been decided at the request of haulage customers and following the partners’ last opening in Meer.
“To make the switch to sustainable transport even easier for our customers, some major new locations are planned this year and next, including Zellik, which will open later this year,” added Xavier Dewulf, CEO of G&V Energy Group.
Apart from its collaboration with G&V Energy, Rolande has also been expanding its LNG network throughout Europe in the past weeks. Its latest opening was a new station in Germany, a nation that currently includes 135 public filling stations.
