H2, Air Liquide add hydrogen refuelling to Shell station in Düren
Fuel cell buses and cars are now able to regularly refuel at the forecourt, expanding the alternative fuel offering of the brand throughout the continent.
H2 MOBILITY Deutschland, Shell and Air Liquide have optimised operations at the branded service station located in Düren. From now on, fuel cell buses and cars will be able to refuel with hydrogen, furthering the mobility company’s alternative strategy throughout the continent
The H2 station is now offering regularly refuelling capabilities for vehicles as part of its optimization operation. This is a standard procedure during commissioning, with final background work still being carried out by the company.
"Rurtalbus GmbH is pleased to be able to use the state-of-the-art hydrogen filling station in such a convenient location for the hydrogen fleet with immediate effect. This site represents an important infrastructure facility for the steadily growing hydrogen bus fleet for the next few years and is an essential building block for the successive conversion of the bus fleet to hydrogen," said Nik Asbach, Managing Director of Rurtalbus, a local bus transport firm.
H2 MOBILITY Deutschland is responsible for the construction and operation of the hydrogen station, with the technology provided by Air Liquide. More than 600 kilograms of hydrogen are stored at the station, with refuelling being possible at two pressure levels, 700 and 350 bar, at a total of 2 dispensing points.
The new station complements the 19 hydrogen refuelling stations currently operating in the North Rhine-Westphalia region.
