Harvest Energy launches new Breeze sub-brand for ‘virtually attended’ filling station in the UK

Harvest Energy launches the new sub-brand Breeze for its first ‘virtually attended’ filling station in the UK, as reported by the ‘Forecourt Trader’.

“We are effectively moving the ‘competent person’ from being physically located on-site, to a remote monitoring facility,” explains Simon Davis, Harvest Energy’s head of sales and logistics. “We have redefined how an unmanned petrol station works.”

According to Scheidt & Bachmann, technology partner of Harvest Energy in this project, a so-called “Emergency Cabinet” replaces the on-site security staff. Equipped with an emergency button, an intercom, a fire-extinguisher and a first aid kit, it is ready to provide help and to switch off the power on the station if necessary. The site is covered by a number of CCTV cameras and the operator at the remote location is able to approve and authorise the pumps in exactly the same way as on an attended forecourt. The whole system has been fully approved in the UK.

“The project is about giving low-volume sites a new lease of life, and providing a service to the local community,” says Simon Davis.
