Hoyer implements mobile payment at stations via Clever Pay
The service will be available at 200 locations of the fuel retailer in Germany, creating a network of 680 connected forecourts throughout the country.
Hoyer has implemented Clever Pay to offer mobile payment services to its customers throughout 200 service stations of its network in Germany. This new option has been made available through a partnership with Clever Tanken, a consumer information provider, and LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG.
With the integration of the LOGPAY payment method, users of the Clever Tanken app can not only find the cheapest petrol station in their area, but also pay for their fuel directly at the pump using their smartphone via the new integrated function.
"Hoyer is one of the largest independent petrol station operators in Germany. It is very important for us to provide customers with simple and digital services, which is why we are delighted about this cooperation," said Florian Lückmann, Business Unit Manager at the Hoyer Group of Companies.
Users of the app are alerted to where Clever Pay is available by an identifier of participating stations. If they want to use the payment service, they register directly through the Clever Tanken app, adding personal information and a payment method. If you want to pay via Clever Pay, call up the corresponding petrol station via the platform, enter the pump number, specify the amount and fill up. After filling up, the app confirms the successful payment process and the receipt for the transaction is sent to the user by e-mail.
"Due to the high acceptance and the large reach of Clever Tanken with more than 32 million visits in May 2022 alone, the Hoyer Group of Companies has decided to make its fuel stations available in the B2C acceptance network of Clever Pay. This allows us to successively expand our offer as planned and thus currently serve around 680 petrol stations in the payment system throughout Germany," added Steffen Bock, Founder and Managing Director of Clever Tanken.
