Indonesia: Pertamina expands with new Pertashop in North Tarakan
The company has inaugurated a new small service station in the island of Taraka to offer its residents fuel solutions and boost the local economy.
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan has announced the opening of a new Pertashop service station in the northern region of Taraka. The company aims to bring energy closer to the community through its new opening celebrated last Thursday.
The firm held an inauguration ceremony that was attended by several of the community’s most important public figures as well as representatives of Pertamina. Azri Ramadhan, Sales Branch Manager of Rayon V Pertamina Kaltimtara, Hasanuddin, the chief of the Juwata Krikil village, where the new site was built; and Badaruddin, the Head of North Tarakan, led the inauguration ceremony of the first Pertashop in the territory.
“We hope that with this Pertashop, it can help move the economy of residents,” stated Ramadhan. The Manager also stated that previously, people needed to travel roughly 8 kilometers to reach the nearest station.
"Of course, it is easier for people to get fuel. The quality and price are the same as at petrol stations," he added. With this new installation, people can refuel their cars and buy different products in the store without the need to travel such a long distance.
While Hasanuddin expressed his appreciation for Pertamina's Pertashop program, the company’s representative stated that there is still a long way to go. Currently, there are several other areas that have not been reached by the firm’s stations, laying the ground for new entrepreneurs that want to open new forecourts in the near future.
“To open a Pertashop business, you need a fairly affordable capital with relatively easy requirements,” commented Ramadhan.
