Instacart partners with Vroom Delivery to expand retail media in the US
Vroom Delivery to bring Instacart sponsored product and display ads to 3,500 convenience stores.
Instacart is expanding its advertising reach into the convenience sector through a new partnership with Vroom Delivery, an e-commerce platform for independent and regional retailers. The deal will make Instacart’s Carrot Ads available across Vroom’s network of 3,500 convenience stores, giving advertisers the ability to run sponsored product and display campaigns beyond traditional grocery chains.
The move opens Vroom’s retailers to Instacart’s 7,500 brand advertisers and is positioned as a way to help smaller operators compete with larger players in e-commerce. Instacart says more than 240 partners already use its Carrot Ads technology, which allows retailers to monetize digital storefronts and apps.
Vroom Delivery’s chief executive John Nelson said the partnership aims to give local stores access to industry-leading advertising tools, while Instacart described it as part of its strategy to broaden retail media beyond its own marketplace. The agreement underscores how convenience retailers are being drawn into the fast-growing digital advertising sector, long dominated by companies such as Amazon and Walmart.
