Ipiranga is accelerating its data-driven strategy with Atena, a proprietary predictive intelligence framework that forecasts fuel demand across Brazil and supports core business decisions. Created internally by the company’s Data Science team, the system has already delivered substantial impact: in 2024, forecast accuracy improvements represented an average of R$ 94.8 million ($18 million) per month in volume.

Atena analyzes seasonal trends, consumption behavior, and macroeconomic and agricultural variables to generate reliable projections used across several management processes, from sales and operations planning (S&OP) to strategic and budget planning.

The technology’s ability to capture market nuances, such as the effect of holidays or tax changes on fuel demand, allows Ipiranga to anticipate shifts and operate with greater precision. Today, more than 380 active models support decisions across the company under a unified future outlook.

“When technology is treated as part of the strategy—and not just as support—it changes the way we operate, plan, and grow,” said Priscila Falcão, Director of Market Intelligence and Trends at Ipiranga.

Ipiranga remains one of the leading mobility and fuel distribution companies in Brazil, with more than 6,000 service stations and over 7,000 large corporate clients across the country. Its network includes the AmPm and Jet Oil franchise brands as well as KMV, a nationwide loyalty program with 38 million participants.
