Iran gets first convenience store
South Korean convenience store chain operator BGF Retail Co. has launched Iran’s first convenience store, reports Yonhap News Agency.
The store located in Tehran is also the Korean c-store chain’s first overseas outlet, marking the company’s international expansion.
The launch came about four months after BGF Retail signed an agreement with Entekhab, the largest retailer and home appliance manufacturer in Iran.
"Iran is the largest market in the Middle East with over 80 million people," said Hong Jung-kuk, vice president of BGF Retail. "We will accelerate our global expansion after making a successful landing in the Iranian market."
