Israel: Gilbarco acquires Odysii
Technology solutions company Gilbarco Veeder-Root has purchased Tel Aviv-based marketing intelligence firm Odysii Technologies for an undisclosed amount, according to Gilbarco’s October 12 company release.
Gilbarco and Odysii have been in partnership since 2012 and have been marketing the Odysii upselling solution Impulse™, which provides real-time customer analytics and a personalized messaging platform. Impulse™ is integrated to the point of sale (POS) and provides an upselling message on the store’s special offers, loyalty rewards, and products that are of interest to the customer.
Gilbarco, which specializes in POS at gas stations and convenience stores, highlights the ability of Impulse™ in increasing shopper basket size, customer loyalty, and eventually in-store sales.
"Our customers will benefit from this powerful Impulse platform, now with even tighter integration to our Passport POS, as well as future loyalty and mobile applications," said Gilbarco North America President Stephen Moule.
Odysii CEO Adi Eyal said, "We are pleased to advance our partnership with Gilbarco by becoming an official part of the team. We look forward to delivering a rich roadmap of targeted merchandising and loyalty features for the POS, as well as other Gilbarco technology."
Odysii, founded in 2004 by Eyal and serial angel investor Yair Goldfinger, will become a separate branch of Gilbranco and will continue to operate from its offices in Tel Aviv, reported Israeli technology news blog Geektime.
