Italian authorities call for dialogue ahead of fuel retailers strike during June 24-25
Italian authorities from the Economic Development Ministry have called for a dialogue of participants in the fuel retail industry in a bid to avoid a strike called for June 24-25, according to information published in websites of the country’s fuel retail organizations.
The call for dialogue came through a letter signed by the general director of Energy, Gilberto Dialuce, but according to the groups planning the stoppage arrived late as it was just “few days” before the strike called by fuel retail related organizations such as Faib Autostrade, Fegica and Anisa.
The organizations, who have several complaints including what they consider excessive royalties, claim that the “dialogue table” should have taken place much earlier in the month.
Tonino Lucchesi, president of Faib Autostrade, has said that 430 service stations operating in the country highways are suffering serious economic difficulties which endanger them and their thousands of dependents.
