MFA Oil acquires Missouri fuel supplier
MFA Oil Company has acquired Brownfield Oil Company, a Moberly, Missouri-based refined fuels and lubricants supplier.
The transaction, which included the purchase of Sinclair retail fuel stations in Shelbina and Kirksville, Missouri, will provide substantial growth to APM, said the company release.
APM is the wholesale petroleum distribution division of MFA Oil.
“Besides adding a significant amount of fuel volume to our operations, it will allow us to better serve our mid-Missouri customers by greatly improving our operating efficiencies,” said Don Smith, MFA Oil director of mergers and acquisitions.
This marks MFA Oil’s fifth acquisition since September 2015. The Columbia, Missouri-based farmer-owned cooperative is considering further acquisitions locally and in other states.
It previously acquired Lybarger Oil, Inc. in Garnett, Kansas; Elaine Petroleum Distribution, Inc. in Elaine, Arkansas; R&S Propane, Inc. in Dibble, Oklahoma; and S&S Oil and Propane Company Inc. in Emporia, Kansas.
Brownfield Oil will retain its transportation services business and some staff as part of the deal. The remaining employees will join the MFA Oil team.
MFA Oil also operates Break Time convenience stores, Big O Tire stores, and Jiffy Lube service stations.
