Mitsubishi partners with PTT to enhance e-mobility in Thailand
The auto manufacturer sees potential for collaboration in electric vehicle production and mobility services with PTT and Arun Plus.
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has entered discussions with Thailand’s PTT and Arun Plus to develop the e-mobility ecosystem. The collaboration incudes local manufacturing operations in Thailand, domestic sales, exports, and related services. This initiative aims to support Thailand's efforts toward achieving carbon neutrality.
PTT, a longstanding leader in Thailand's energy sector, brings extensive knowledge of the energy industry and automotive market, along with its EV ecosystem concept. Mitsubishi Motors, which is advancing its electric vehicle strategy, sees potential for collaboration in electric vehicle production and mobility services with these partners.
"Thailand is a crucial market for Mitsubishi Motors' international operations. We have contributed to the Thai economy for over 60 years through our automotive business. This collaboration will leverage the combined experiences and resources of the four companies, further contributing to Thailand's economic growth and carbon neutrality goals,” said Takao Kato, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors.
In 2023, state-run oil company PTT Oil and Retail Business said it planned to establish the country’s largest electric vehicle charging network with 7,000 outlets by 2030.
