MOL acquires over 410 LOTOS stations in Poland

As part of the transactions, MOL also divests 143 stations in Hungary and 39 stations in Slovakia.

MOL Group will enter the Polish fuel market with the acquisition of 410 service stations from Grupa LOTOS. Entering the largest market of Central and Eastern Europe marks a crucial milestone for MOL Group in its ambition to broaden its network, according to the company.

The introduction of the MOL brand will begin with immediate effect, including Fresh Corner establishments offering food and coffee to the costumers.

The deal follows the decision by the European Commission in July 2020 approving the acquisition of Grupa LOTOS by PKN Orlen, on the condition that a remedy package sale transaction is implemented to ensure healthy competition in Poland.

As part of the transactions, MOL also divests 143 stations in Hungary and 39 stations in Slovakia, paving the way for PKN Orlen to enter the Slovakian and Hungarian fuel retail market.

MOL Group wants to to complete re-branding the new network as swiftly as possible. Slovnaft Polska service stations operating in Southern Poland will also be transformed to operate under the MOL brand, taking the total number of MOL’s Polish network close to 500

MOL has been listed on the Warsaw stock exchange since 2004 and close to 20% of its foreign investors are Polish.
