Mozambique: Puma Energy opens two new fuel terminals
Global energy company Puma Energy has officially opened two new fuel terminals in Mozambique, increasing its total capacity in the country to 275,500 m3.
The new Puma Energy fuel terminals boast 11 new storage tanks which have been 12 months in the making, using more than 25,000 tonnes of steel. After these new openings, Mozambique becomes the company´s biggest storage center in Africa.
“Mozambique is a very promising market in Africa today. We have confidence in the country’s long-term commercial opportunities as well as the country’s strategic location to answer the supply requirements of Southern Africa,” explains Christophe Zyde, Chief Operating Officer for Puma Energy Africa.
Since 2012, Puma has invested over USD1.5 billion in Africa and is currently adding 350 million litres (92.5 million gallons) of capacity to the 900 million litres it already has in the region.
As the African fuel market quickly develops various energy companies, such as Engen or Puma Energy, are making large investments in storage and distribution facilities.
