Netherlands: 220 Tamoil stations to accept remote mobile payment
Dutch motorists will be able to pay through an app on their smartphones at 220 Tamoil gas stations from this summer.
MyOrder, a mobile payment service backed by Rabobank, has designed the Mobile Refueling app, which will allow drives to prepay through their smartphones.
“We can now combine our different mobile services in an even better way. For example, you’ll be able to receive a sandwich-coupon after refueling or washing your car. This shows the strength of our mobile platform,” explains Thomas Brinkman, CEO of MyOrder.
Drivers will choose their desired gas pump, select the amount and pay using the MyOrder app. The app also provides direct insight into the user´s refueling behaviour and spending habits
"With mobile payments we really get to know our customers," says Peter Etman, CEO of Tamoil Netherlands. "We can personally reward our customers for their loyalty, for example through discounts or mobile loyalty points."
