OrangeGas expands CNG fueling network in Germany
Dutch alternative fuels supplier OrangeGas has confirmed its intentions to become a major European player by purchasing thirteen compressed natural gas filling stations in Germany.
The deal will see OrangeGas operate in North-Rhine Westphalia and will later seek to expand into other German states.
A report published by Gibgas, a German consulting company for CNG and biomethane driving, discussed the prospects OrangeGas has for Germany’s CNG market, according to NGV Global News.
“We have every confidence that we will be able to grow to 100 – 150 CNG filling stations in Germany over the next 2-3 years,” said Wijtze Bakker, the new Managing Director Germany at OrangeGas.
Orangegas operates automatic filling stations across the Netherlands and Benelux where it sells ‘green gas’, a mix of natural gas and renewable biomethane harvested from sewage treatment, organic waste and landfill gas. Gibgas has indicated that Belgium, Sweden and the UK are also on the OrangeGas agenda. Additionally, the company is looking to introduce hydrogen fuel.
