ORLEN opens first fully automated Stop Cafe store in the Czech Republic
The launch marks a further step in ORLEN's push to diversify beyond traditional fuel retail.
ORLEN has stepped outside its fuel stations to open its first standalone, fully automated Stop Cafe store in the Czech Republic, located next to a park-and-ride facility in Prague.
The unmanned outlet offers customers a range of food, beverages, and a coffee corner around the clock, seven days a week. Entry and age verification are handled through the DoKapsy mobile app from ČSOB, which links the shopping experience to users' banking identity.
"Revenue from the non-fuel segment has caught up with revenue from fuel sales, and ORLEN wants to tap into that potential beyond fuel stations too, following the successful model developed in Germany," said Agnieszka Bobrukiewicz, board member at ORLEN Unipetrol, who led the official opening.
"The location near the Praha-Braník train station was chosen deliberately for its high footfall, and the goal is to bring the Stop Cafe brand closer to customers in other high-traffic locations as well," added Rostislav Moravec, director of ORLEN's fuel station network in the Czech Republic.
