Oxxo has launched a brand activation in Seoul, South Korea, as part of a strategy to connect with international football fans ahead of their arrival in Mexico. The Mexican convenience retailer has installed a large outdoor advertisement in the Dongdaemun district, featuring a localized version of its well-known phrase: “I’m going to Oxxo, want anything?”

The campaign aims to introduce global audiences to the brand’s everyday convenience concept rather than promote specific products. By using a familiar phrase adapted into the local language, the company seeks to build early recognition and cultural connection with potential visitors before they travel.

This initiative is part of a broader effort that will extend to key arrival points in Mexico. The brand plans to deploy multilingual welcome messages in airports across major cities, including Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara, tailored to different visitor profiles and nationalities.

Jorge Esquer, Marketing Manager at Oxxo Mexico, said the approach is designed to strengthen engagement with new audiences while preparing for increased store traffic linked to international events. He noted that offering communication in multiple languages reflects a broader effort to enhance accessibility and customer experience.

The activation falls under its “host of all” campaign, which positions the retailer as an accessible and familiar touchpoint for international travelers. The strategy focuses on integrating the brand into simple daily routines, emphasizing convenience and ease of use across different cultural contexts.

With an established presence across Latin America, including markets such as Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Peru, Oxxo is extending its brand visibility beyond its core regions. The South Korea campaign highlights its ambition to position itself as a recognizable convenience retail brand for global consumers.
