Mexico’s Oxxo ecosystem is advancing efforts to digitalize fuel retail operations through a new integrated payments solution presented at Onexpo 2026. Developed by Spin in collaboration with NetPay, the initiative targets service stations still heavily reliant on cash, aiming to improve efficiency, security and financial inclusion.

The platform enables digital payment acceptance at the forecourt, alongside tools for income management and fund distribution, allowing operators to transition toward more traceable and streamlined processes. It incorporates QR and CoDi payments as well as rugged terminals, while integrating with operational systems to strengthen control and reduce fraud risks.

The move aligns with broader national efforts to decrease cash usage in key sectors. Fuel retail remains one of the most cash-intensive industries in Mexico, especially for on-site payments and tips, which can limit transparency and increase operational complexity.

Rodrigo García Jacques, CEO of Spin, said: “We believe that the future of payments in Mexico lies in digitizing the entire flow of money. This will create new opportunities and enable millions of people and businesses to operate more securely and efficiently.”

Through Spin by Oxxo and related services, the solution extends digital financial tools to both businesses and consumers, expanding payment options and simplifying fund management. NetPay supports the deployment with payment infrastructure and system integration capabilities.
