The SPOT M7 terminal is the latest generation of Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s product evolution. A technologically advanced terminal that meets the ever stringent international security standards: the M7 is world's first terminal that has obtained the PCI 4.x certification for fuel service stations.
These terminals are the most efficient and advanced systems available today that enable motorists to buy fuel with a wide variety of payment and identification methods. Not only all the classic methods but modern ones as well; banknotes, magnetic cards, chip and contactless, NFC, RFID, barcodes on coupons, vouchers and loyalty cards, credit reuse and prepaid codes.
The most recent addition to the payment options is the ability to pay for fuel using mobile phones, allowing customers to pay in the most simple and intuitive way possible from inside their vehicle. Gilbarco Veeder-Root mobile payment service is based on services and security implemented by Gilbarco Global Cloud, a technology platform used for the connection of petrol or gas stations with data collection and assistance centers, as well as for the connection to international bank payment centers.
In addition to ensuring services’ security and constant availability, Gilbarco Global Cloud connection seamless integrates with existing Gilbarco Veeder-Root forecourt controllers. The linkage with Gilbarco Global Cloud also uniforms the user experience in mobile payment, eliminating all differences in user interaction among different stations.
As soon as the vehicle enters a mobile payment enabled gas station, the app installed on the phone is automatically launched and the user is asked to choose the method of payment to be used: e.g. the customer may have different method of payment to choose among (eg. VISA, AMEX, Paypal, loyalty card, etc.), and they can choose which one is preferred.
Once the payment method has been chosen and the amount to be refueled specified, the user simply selects the pump number to be authorized: the driver can then exit the car and start refueling.
Not only does Gilbarco Veeder-Root mobile payment system comply with all international security standards, it also observes all the recommendations of the leading forecourt security organizations, as (for example):
- It does not require the user to do any operation with the phone when refueling
- It does not require the user to do any calls to complete a transaction
- It enables transactions from the driver’s seat, with no need to exit the car before being necessary
- The user is advised to leave the cell phone in the car before exiting, to prevent any distractions during refueling.
