Pop’s Mart Fuels acquires six c-stores from Mallard Oil
The new locations represent the brand's entry into the North Carolina region and have increased its retail network up to 45 operated stores.
Pop’s Mart Fuels LLC has acquired six convenience stores with fueling positions from Mallard Oil Company. According to a report by local news site, Darik News, has led the buyer into its first foray into the North Carolina region.
Pop’s Mart Fuels’ sites not only provide retail and fueling services but also offer products and services in the grill and fireplace, mini-storage and retail space businesses.
“The acquisition of six Mallard Oil convenience stores moves us into eastern North Carolina where we see further acquisition opportunities. Pops Mart, now with a total of 45 operating convenience stores, plans to continue its growth strategy through acquisitions,” said Don Droughan, CEO of Pops Mart Fuels.
Droghan and its partner, JD Dykstra, founded Pop’s Mart Fuels as a new unit to complete the acquisition of South Carolina-based Columbia Winnsboro Petroleum in January of 2022. In December 2022, Pops Mart acquired 14 stores from Anderson Oil Company Inc., Barnwell, South Carolina, a deal that also included an under-construction store and seven wholesale fuel dealer locations.
Pops Mart Fuels is based in Columbia and operates 39 Shell, BP, Exxon locations as well as 76-branded locations and seven fuel supply dealer locations in and around the Columbia area approximately 120 miles both north and south.
