Qatar’s Woqod raises non-Qatari ownership to almost 50%

Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has approved the raise of the non-Qatari ownership to 49% of the company share capital.

Fueling retailer Woqod’s extraordinary general assembly amended article 9-1 of the company to to raise the non-Qatari ownership to 49% and private ownership to 1%.

Engineer Al-Muhannadi indicated that this amendment came in order to follow the ‎instructions of Qatar Petroleum to its listed affiliate companies, and also to address the request of ‎Qatar Stock Exchange of enhancing the attractiveness of ‎investing in Qatari companies.

The Middles Eastern retailer want to double the number of its gas stations to reach 120 sites by 2020.

Engineer Al-Muhannadi also pointed out that  additional dispensers would be installed in 2018 to improve servicing and modernize sites.
