ReFuelForum Africa remains the meeting place for the African Fuel Retail Industry
ReFuelForum Africa, the premier gathering for fuel retail industry leaders and energy companies, returned to Johannesburg last week. This highly anticipated event, brought together prominent players from across the African continent to discuss the dynamic landscape of fuel retail and its exciting future.
A truly pan-African event ReFuel Africa boasted participation from fuel retail powerhouses across the continent, including Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Zambia, Namibia, and South Africa.
Major and National oil companies across the region including Vivo Energy, Sasol, Puma Energy, Shell, Engen, NNPC, Pumangol, BP South Africa and TotalEnergies joined in force alongside some new, emerging retailers. Leading manufacturers completed the audience, including Gilbarco Veeder Root (Headline Partner), Fuel Trans (Technology Partner) and many more cutting-edge suppliers supporting the developing African market.
Conference sessions included two industry debates: the first gave insights on leveraging data hosted by Alfred Moshi from Kalibrate with contributions from Nuno Santos, Pumangol, Kojo Takyi, GOIL, Kurt Rodenburg, PDI and Tal Ginat, Picafuel. This was followed by a round table discussion on the growth of mobility and convenience retail in Africa presented and moderated by Mohamed Carrim.
1-2-1 meetings and education were top of the event agenda but as with all ReFuel Forums – networking is at the heart and the organisers ensured that conversations continued throughout culminating in a Polo Match and dinner.
Next stop for ReFuelForum Africa is Nairobi from 8-10 September. Says Lucy Hogg, Head of Retailer Engagement at OpenRoom Events “by taking the event to Kenya for the first time, we will have the opportunity to draw on a pool of East African retailers to complement the existing support from the Southern and Sub-Saharan groups we host already.
And next stop for the ReFuelForum global series is North America from 12-14 November in San Antonio.
