Electric vehicles drivers stopping at the EnBW fast charging park in Bispingen will be able to recharge with a salad, a sandwich or a cool drink with the new REWE ready autonomous convenience store.

The pilot shop offers a wide range of products that intends to meet the needs of charging users. The innovative technology enables fast and contactless shopping.

More than 230 products are available including yoghurt, ice cream and a large selection of chilled beverages. The shop design offers the possibility to offer up to 500 items. During the pilot phase, REWE and EnBW want to test how the technology and product range are accepted by consumers.

Operationally, the pilot project will be managed and controlled by the REWE subsidiary Lekkerland, which bundles the convenience business of REWE Group. The shop technology was developed by Latebird.

With a turnover of €26.7 billion, 161,000 employees nationwide and 3,700 stores, REWE Markt GmbH is one of the leading companies in German food retailing.
