Romania: OMV Petrom launches first 'climate neutral card' to offset emissions
OMV Climate Neutral card offers companies the possibility to offset carbon emissions caused during transportation by paying a fixed fee for refuelling.
OMV Petrom, the largest energy company in Southeastern Europe, launches the OMV Climate Neutral card in Romania, through which companies can get active in climate actions and contribute to offsetting carbon emissions resulting from fuel usage. This option, a premiere for the Romanian fuel market, is enabled through the cooperation with ClimatePartner, an international solutions provider for corporate climate action.
OMV Climate Neutral runs like a traditional fuel card and offers companies the possibility to offset carbon emissions caused during transportation by paying a fixed fee for refuelling, a contribution that will support carbon offset projects in ClimatePartner’s portfolio.
Users of an OMV Climate Neutral card will be able to check the volume of offset carbon emissions on the ClimatePartner portal.
OMV Petrom is present on the oil products retail market in Romania and neighboring countries through 802 filling stations, at the end of June 2020, under two brands – OMV and Petrom.
ClimatePartner is a solution provider for corporate climate action. The company helps customers calculate and reduce carbon emissions and offset unavoidable emissions.
