Romania: Rompetrol to open 9 more gas stations in 2016
After opening two gas stations in Romania, fuel retailer Rompetrol is planning to build and operate nine more sites by the end of the year.
Rompetrol, a retailing unit of energy company KMG International, has invested €7 million in its Romanian fuelling network in the first half of 2016.
Together with the construction of new stations, Rompetrol has also carried out a modernization of its network. Works have been completed in 130 sites, and Hay convenience stores have been installed in 91 of those stations.
“Currently, there are averagely 60.000-80.000 of clients that visit us daily. All the measures taken during the modernization of the filling stations have ensured an increase in the number of people who visited Rompetrol filling stations - with 30% in June compared with the beginning of 2016,” said Catalin Dumitru, the Vice President of KMG International.
KMG International carries out its retail activities in over 1,000 fuel distribution points owned and operated in such countries as Romania, Georgia, Bulgaria, and Moldova. The company was acquired by CEFC China Energy Company at the end of 2015 under plans for a major expansion across Europe.
