Romania’s Rompetrol to open 30 new gas stations in two years
Romanian fuel retailer Rompetrol Downstream set up a new gas station in Bucharest on July 6, as part of their expanding strategy which will see them open 30 new locations in two years, according to the Romania-Insider.
A member of the Kazahk group KMG International, Rompetrol has made an initial USD 1.3 million investment for their new service station in Romania’s capital. They plan to open an extra 11 gas stations in 2015, with an expected total budget of USD 18 million.
The plans for next year, 2016, include the installation of 19 to 20 new petroleum retailing facilities, with an expected USD 20 million investment.
“The opening of the new gas stations fits into KMG International Group’s strategy to extend its retail network on the local and regional market,” said Azamat Zhangulov, Senior Vice President KMG International.
The Rumanian fuel distributing group now holds 133 gas stations in the country, many of which have been refurbished with their new logo and identity signs. Of the 750 service stations Rompetrol controls in Rumania, most of them are partner stations.
In Europe, KMG International own over a 1,000 distribution outlets in six different countries: Romania, Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, France, Spain, Georgia, and Ukraine, all operating under the Rompetrol and Dyneff brands.
