Rutter’s to open 50 more convenience stores across the U.S.
Retailer’s next five-year plan includes its first foray into Delaware and Virginia as well as opening new retail outlets in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
Rutter’s announced its expansion plans for the next five years, which include the opening of 50 convenience stores across the United States. The retailer will also invest $150 million in capital expenditures this year to revamp current shops and add new ranges to its offer.
According to a report by news site Penn Live, the brand aims to operate stores from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia and north of Altoona in size from 10,000 to 12,000 square-feet. These new sites will be equipped with large walk-in beer caves, wine offerings, dine-in seatings and 24-hour a day food/beverage offerings.
The company will also add alcohol sales and video gaming terminals at some of these new locations, as part of its investment strategy.
“Thanks to our food service innovation, focus on industry leading wages, large breath of offerings, and best-in-class customer experience, we find that our locations are the customer favorite in new and existing markets,” declared Scott Hartman, President and CEO of Rutter’s, in a statement according to the report by the online publication.
Rutter’s currently operates a total network of 84 stores across Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
